PART 2 | THE STRANGER WHO APPROACHED OUR TABLE CLAIMED WE WERE BOTH IN DANGER—BUT THE NAME HE WHISPERED NEXT MADE MY HEART STOP… AND WHAT HE HANDED ME CHANGED EVERYTHING!

My heart was racing so hard I could barely hear the music playing inside the restaurant.

The stranger stood beside our table, calm and expressionless.

“We’ve been looking for both of you,” he repeated.

My date looked like he had seen a ghost.

The arrogant, self-confident man who had mocked me just an hour earlier suddenly couldn’t even meet the stranger’s eyes.

“What do you want?” he asked.

The stranger ignored him.

Instead, he looked directly at me.

And that’s when I noticed something.

He knew my name.

Not just my first name.

My full name.

A chill ran down my spine.

“How do you know who I am?” I whispered.

The stranger reached into his jacket.

My stomach dropped.

For one terrifying second, I thought he was pulling out a weapon.

Instead, he placed a small envelope on the table.

“Open it.”

“No,” my date snapped.

His voice cracked.

“Don’t let her open that.”

The panic in his eyes told me everything.

Whatever was inside that envelope terrified him.

And suddenly, I needed to know why.

With trembling hands, I opened it.

Inside was a photograph.

At first, it didn’t make sense.

Then my breath caught.

I recognized the woman immediately.

The same woman who had warned me about my date months ago.

The same woman who had vanished without explanation.

But she wasn’t alone in the picture.

Standing beside her was…

My date.

And neither of them looked happy.

In fact, they looked terrified.

“What is this?” I asked.

The stranger leaned closer.

“That’s the last photo ever taken of her.”

My blood ran cold.

“What do you mean?”

Before he could answer, my date suddenly stood up.

His chair crashed backward.

People throughout the restaurant turned to stare.

“Stop talking,” he growled.

For the first time all evening, I heard genuine fear in his voice.

The stranger smirked.

“You should have told her the truth.”

My date clenched his fists.

“She doesn’t know anything.”

The stranger’s eyes shifted toward me.

“That’s exactly the problem.”

Panic surged through me.

“What truth?”

Neither man answered.

Instead, they exchanged a look that made my stomach twist into knots.

A look between two people sharing the same secret.

Then the stranger slid a folded piece of paper across the table.

“Read the address.”

I unfolded it.

The moment I saw the location, my hands began shaking uncontrollably.

Because I knew that address.

I had been there before.

Years ago.

A place connected to a memory I had spent my entire life trying to forget.

My date’s face turned white.

“No,” he whispered.

The stranger nodded.

“She finally remembers.”

I looked from one man to the other.

“What happened there?”

Silence.

Then my date slowly sat back down.

His eyes filled with something I had never seen before.

Regret.

“You need to leave,” he said quietly.

“What?”

“You need to leave right now.”

The stranger laughed.

“It’s too late for that.”

My heart pounded against my ribs.

“What are you both talking about?”

The stranger reached for his phone.

He pressed a button.

A video began playing.

The screen showed an old security recording.

The date in the corner made my stomach drop.

It was from twelve years ago.

The footage was grainy.

Dark.

Hard to see.

But as the image sharpened, I felt every ounce of blood drain from my body.

Because standing in the center of the screen…

Was me.

And someone standing right beside me looked exactly like the woman in the photograph.

Then a third figure stepped into frame.

The moment my date saw that person’s face, he jumped to his feet.

“No!” he shouted.

But it was too late.

I had already seen it.

And what I saw made me realize that neither of these men had been telling the whole truth.

Because the person approaching us in that old video…

Was walking into the restaurant at that exact moment.
