Sylvester Stallone has turned personal heartbreak into a mission of hope. The legendary actor, still mourning the loss of his son Sage Stallone, has announced the creation of The Sage Heart Foundation — a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families detect and treat heart conditions early. “No one should die like my son,” Stallone said through tears at the foundation’s launch event in Los Angeles.

The initiative marks a deeply emotional chapter in Stallone’s life. Sage, who passed away in 2012 at just 36 years old, was found to have suffered from undiagnosed coronary artery disease. The tragedy left Stallone shattered, but over a decade later, he is channeling his grief into something transformative. “I couldn’t save him,” Stallone confessed, “but maybe through this foundation, I can save others.”
The Sage Heart Foundation will provide free heart screenings, education, and early intervention programs for young adults who might otherwise go undiagnosed. Its mission also includes funding community clinics and offering financial support to families struggling with costly cardiac treatments. “We’re starting with what Sage didn’t have — awareness,” Stallone explained. “Heart conditions can hide in silence until it’s too late.”

Stallone’s wife, Jennifer Flavin, and their daughters joined him at the emotional unveiling ceremony. Together, they spoke about turning their family’s loss into purpose. “This is about love,” Flavin said. “It’s about turning pain into protection for others.” The family’s unity at the event moved the audience, many of whom were longtime fans who had followed Stallone’s personal journey for decades.
Medical experts have praised the actor’s decision to use his platform to promote cardiovascular health. Dr. Alan Kim, one of the foundation’s advisors, noted, “When a public figure like Mr. Stallone takes action, it inspires change. Early detection can mean the difference between life and death — especially for young people.”
Stallone revealed that the foundation’s name and logo were personally designed by him, incorporating his son’s initials in a subtle heart motif. “It’s my way of keeping Sage with me,” he said softly. “Every heartbeat we save will feel like his.”

The foundation’s first campaign, titled Project Pulse, will roll out nationwide later this year. It aims to partner with schools, fitness centers, and film studios to offer free on-site heart screenings and awareness workshops. “We’re bringing this fight to where people live and work,” Stallone said. “This isn’t just for Hollywood — it’s for everyone.”
Friends and fellow actors have publicly supported the cause, with stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dwayne Johnson praising Stallone’s courage. “Sly has always been a fighter,” Johnson wrote on social media. “Now he’s fighting for something far bigger than himself.”
Stallone admitted that the process of building the foundation has been both healing and painful. “Every meeting, every plan reminds me of Sage,” he said. “But I also feel his spirit guiding me — telling me to keep going, to keep fighting.”

Reflecting on his journey from grief to action, Stallone described the foundation as a second chance — not for his son, but for others. “I’ve played heroes my whole life on screen,” he said. “Now, I just want to do something heroic in real life.”
As he closed his speech, Stallone’s voice trembled with emotion. “Sage’s story doesn’t end in tragedy,” he said. “It continues through every life this foundation saves. If even one person lives because of him, then my son’s heart will keep beating — forever.”
