PART 2 | My Blind Date Arrived in a Sleek Black Luxury Car Looking Like a Millionaire, But When He Took Off His Sunglasses I Realized He Was the Man Who Ghosted Me Right After Promising Marriage 8 Years Ago – And the Shocking Confession He Made Over Dinner Made My Heart Pound While Sending Chills Down My Spine!

The rest of the dinner felt like a dream mixed with a nightmare. Daniel tried to act normal, but I could see the fear in his eyes. He ordered more wine and kept looking around the restaurant as if someone was watching us. My heart was still racing from his partial confession. After all these years, the man who broke me was sitting right here, richer and more handsome than ever, but clearly carrying heavy secrets.

When I pressed him to explain why he had disappeared, he took a deep breath and finally opened up.

“Eight years ago, right after I proposed to you, I got involved with some very dangerous people. My family had huge debts, and I thought I could fix everything quickly by working with them. But they were part of an underground network — money laundering, threats, the works. They warned me that if I didn’t cut all ties with my old life, including you, they would hurt the people I loved. I left to protect you, Emma. I thought if I disappeared, you would be safe.”

My dạ dày quặn thắt as I listened. Hoảng loạn tột độ began to rise inside me. All those years of crying, wondering what I had done wrong, thinking I wasn’t good enough — it was all because of this?

Daniel reached across the table and gently took my hand. His touch still felt familiar, sending both warmth and fear through me.

“I never stopped loving you. I watched you from afar when I could. I saw you succeed in your career. I was so proud… but so guilty. Now I’m trying to get out of that world. I’ve gathered enough evidence to bring them down, but they’re closing in on me.”

Just as he said that, a black SUV parked outside the restaurant caught my eye. Two men in dark clothes stepped out and stood by the entrance, looking inside. Daniel noticed them too. His grip on my hand tightened.

“We need to leave. Now,” he whispered urgently.

He paid the bill quickly and led me out through the back entrance toward his car. My mind was spinning. Part of me wanted to run away from him forever, but another part — the part that had never fully healed — wanted answers. As we drove through the rainy streets of Saigon, Daniel kept checking the rearview mirror.

“I shouldn’t have contacted you again,” he said, his voice full of regret. “But when my friend set up this blind date and I saw your name… I couldn’t stay away. Emma, if you trust me, I need you to come with me to a safe place tonight. There’s more I haven’t told you yet.”

My tim đập thình thịch as the city lights blurred past us. I didn’t know if I was making the biggest mistake of my life or finally facing the truth I deserved. When we stopped at a red light, Daniel turned to me with serious eyes.

“There’s one more thing. The real reason they wanted me to leave you…”
