Sylvester Stallone Facing Charges Over Alleged Assault on Teenage Girl?

Veteran Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone is once again under public scrutiny as reports surface that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office had reviewed but ultimately declined to pursue criminal charges related to historical sexual assault allegations. The accusations, which date back to the late 1980s and early 1990s, had initially sparked controversy and widespread media attention when they resurfaced in 2017.

According to official documents released by the Los Angeles prosecutors, there was insufficient evidence to move forward with a case against the “Rocky” and “Rambo” star. Authorities cited that the allegations were not supported by corroborative testimony and that the incidents in question fell outside the statute of limitations for prosecution.

The complaint, first lodged with the Santa Monica Police Department in November 2017, accused Stallone of sexually assaulting a woman in 1987 and again in 1990. The alleged victim’s identity has been kept confidential, and her statements described a previous consensual relationship with the actor prior to the alleged assaults.

Investigators reported that while the woman presented witnesses she said could support her account, none of them confirmed her claims. The District Attorney’s evaluation form stated that “none of the fresh complaint witnesses corroborated victim’s allegations,” and further investigation produced “no additional corroboration.”

Stallone, through his representatives, has consistently denied all accusations of misconduct. Michelle Bega, a spokesperson for the actor, reaffirmed his position, saying, “Mr. Stallone has continually disputed the charges,” and expressed confidence that the lack of evidence vindicates his stance.

The actor’s legal team emphasized that the allegations were not only unsubstantiated but also legally void due to the expiration of the statutory time limit for filing such charges. “There is no credible evidence to support these claims,” Stallone’s attorney said in a statement, highlighting that the actor had cooperated fully with investigators.

Despite the legal outcome, the accusations have taken a toll on Stallone’s public image. The controversy reportedly prompted him to withdraw from an upcoming action project tentatively titled “Project X,” which was to be co-produced with fellow actor Jackie Chan. The withdrawal fueled speculation that the veteran star sought to distance himself from negative publicity.

The saga marks another chapter in the wave of retrospective allegations that have rocked Hollywood since the late 2010s. Stallone, now in his seventies, has been a fixture of American cinema for nearly five decades, known for his tough-guy persona and inspirational underdog roles that defined an era of action filmmaking.

Rising to global fame with the 1976 classic Rocky, Stallone became an international icon and later cemented his reputation with the Rambo franchise, both of which turned him into one of the most recognizable faces in the industry. He went on to expand his career as a director, screenwriter, and producer, creating and starring in The Expendables series from 2010 onward.

Throughout his career, Stallone has received three Academy Award nominations and won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Rocky Balboa in Creed (2015). His achievements include 24 wins and 25 nominations across various international film festivals and award bodies.

While the recent accusations have cast a shadow over his reputation, many in Hollywood continue to regard Sylvester Stallone as a defining figure in modern action cinema. With no criminal charges filed and investigations now officially closed, the actor’s focus appears to be returning to filmmaking, though his once-untouchable image has undoubtedly been tested by the events of the past decade.
